Dental Services

We offer a variety of general adult dental and pediatric dental services including exams, fillings, crowns, dentures, root canals, extractions (including wisdom teeth), implants, invisalign, laser drill-free dentistry and more. Options for sedation in the office and at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital are also available. By providing a wide variety of quality services to Fairbanks, North Pole, and all of the other many communities Alaska's interior, we strive to save our patients time, money, and insurance confusion, and multiple trips to multiple offices. More details are listed below.

Fillings

We have a variety high quality materials used to fill or repair teeth, including tooth colored restorations. While we have multiple options available, we prefer to use the best proven and tested materials available to provide our patients with long lasting esthetic and functional dental restorations.

Crowns/Bridges

Crown (also known as "caps") and Bridge material as come along way over the past 15 years.  Newer, stronger, bio-compatible and more natural looking/feeling/fitting materials are available, as well as traditional options such as gold.

Dentures

We can fabricate both full dentures for patients without teeth, and partial dentures for patients only missing one or multiple teeth.  Traditionally, denture fabrication takes 4 appointments over 4-8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the case and shipping time. However, we are one the first in Alaska to begin working with digital denture scanning/development, and 3D printing technology to help us shorten that process and deliver better results in 2-3 appointments over 3-14 days. We are currently testing new materials available with this process, but we expect to have it available to all patients soon. How well full dentures (for patients with no teeth on either arch) will function may vary depending on the amount of ridge bone left for denture retention. While every mouth is unique, many options are available in addition to traditional dentures such as metal free framework (great for people with metal allergies), implant attachments, and implant supported hybrids that can improve comfort and function.

Root Canals

Root canal therapy involves carefully cleaning and removing necrotic or dying nerve and tissue inside a tooth and filling/sealing it off to keep bacteria out.  Modern 3D imaging with file, irrigation, and bio-ceramic sealer technology allows us thoroughly clean and seal a tooth better, faster and more predictably better than ever.

Extractions

We can extract virtually any tooth in adults and children, including 3rd molars ("wisdom teeth"). If you are considering replacing the missing tooth with an implant, bone grafting is also available to preserve the bone at the extraction site in preparation for placement. Sedation options are available for patients with anxiety.

Implants

Dental implants are designed to replace single or multiple missing teeth.  They can also be used to replace a full set of missing teeth with many different prosthetic attachments, or even support an existing denture.  Our goal is to keep implant therapy as affordable as possible while using state of the art technology and products. We have the ability to use modern digital 3D imaging, 3D printed surgical guides, and higher quality name brand implants to ensure proper placement, integration, better long term success.  Keep in mind that periodontal disease or bone loss can occur around any natural tooth or implant. While implants and crowns will not decay like teeth, brushing and flossing is still important for long term gum health, bone levels, and implant success.

Laser Dentistry- drill-free, anesthetic free

Not a fan of dental drill noise and vibration?  Laser dentistry has finally advanced to a level of practical, fast, conservative, and in some cases anesthetic free dentistry.  Our Fotona Lightwalker hard/soft tissue dental laser can carefully and quickly remove decay or defective tooth colored fillings in a manner that is safer and more controlled than a traditional dental drill, while also providing a better surface for bonding filling materials. This option has been especially popular with children and adults with dental anxiety.

Pediatric Dentistry

Our goal is to provide a dental experience that eliminates the fear of new experiences and helps kids become excited to see the dentist.  We offer virtually every service possible for kids of all ages such as exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings, tooth colored or traditional stainless steel crowns/caps, extractions, space maintainers, SDF, frenectomies, and more.  Natural looking and traditional materials are both available. Many treatment options are available for children of all ages including metal free restorations and laser and laser anesthetic/drill free fillings.  While some may tolerate dental treatment well, fear or anxiety is not uncommon. Each child is unique and may require a different approach to complete their dental treatment while avoiding potentially traumatic experiences. Although we have options for sedation, modern pediatric dental techniques and equipment has allowed us to treat the majority of our young patients without the need for sedation.  We are also happy to provide you with suggestions, methods, and tips you can use at home to help your improve your child's dental hygiene and decrease fear of dentist or dental visits.
